Top 10 Sex Toy Do’s and Don’ts

Top 10 Sex Toy Do’s and Don’ts - Svakom Australia

Sexual pleasure and wellness can mean different things to different people. So at SVAKOM, we aim to offer intimate products that cater to adults of all needs, wants, body shapes, sexual orientations and sex toy experience levels.

Our message to ‘Explore Your Limits’ invites adults to pursue sexual pleasure and wellness on their own terms, with our luxurious products as a safe and trusted companion in the exciting journey.

Although we support experimentation, there are some general guidelines that everyone using a sex toy should follow. So here are our top 10 do’s and don’ts for using SVAKOM sex toys.

DO: Read the user manual

We understand the excitement of unboxing and using your new sex toy. However, it’s important to read the user manual first and familiarize yourself with the features as well as the usage, safety, care and maintenance directions. Why? Because this helps to maximize your safety and pleasure as well as the product condition and longevity.

DO: Clean your sex toy before and after use

It may be a chore but it’s not one to ignore! Get into the habit of cleaning your sex toy before and after each use. Ideally, use a suitable toy cleaner, then rinse your sex toy and allow it to air dry. However, warm water and mild soap may be an alternative option.

DO: Use water-based lubricant only

The only lubricant compatible with SVAKOM sex toys is water-based lubricant. Silicone-based lubricants and other substances, such as hand creams, body moisturizers, suntan lotions, lipcare products, essential oils and cooking oils, can damage the sex toy materials and are best avoided.

DO: Follow the water-resistance rating

If an electronic device is not waterproof then don’t put it in water. The same rule applies to sex toys. Read the specifications of your SVAKOM sex toy on the packaging and/or user manual to check how much exposure to water it can withstand. This will affect where you can use it (for example, in the shower and bath or dry environments only) and how you should clean it.

DO: Store your sex toy safely

Having sex in adventurous places can be exciting, but sex toys prefer secure surroundings! Store your sex toy in a safe, dry place without exposure to direct sunlight, extreme heat or cold, or substances that may damage the materials

DO NOT: Assume all sex toys safe for anal play

Our body has many pleasure zones and if you’re curious about exploring the backdoor don’t assume any sex toy will do. Use anal-safe sex toys only. Anal toys are designed to remain partially outside of your body for safe and easy retrieval, otherwise it could get stuck or travel too far inside. So, look for a wide, flared base or handle for safety reasons.

DO NOT: Share your sex toy with just anyone

Introducing sex toys to a partner can be an easy and effective way to increase intimacy, excitement and pleasure. However, we generally recommend that adults avoid sharing sex toys with others due to the risk of sexually transmitted illness or using protective measures when necessary, ensuring of course they are compatible with your sex toy materials.

DO NOT: Modify your sex toy

When designing and manufacturing SVAKOM sex toys, focus is always placed on maintaining the highest quality. Our sex toys are crafted from premium materials and placed through rigorous testing to ensure safety and satisfaction. So, do not attempt to modify or dismantle your sex toy, including any non-replaceable batteries, to avoid the risk of harm to yourself or others.

DO NOT: Use your sex toy if it’s damaged

Your sex toy should be a source of pleasure not pain. In the unlikely event that you detect any damage, cracks or degradation, do not use your sex toy for safety reasons The same can be said for any of its charging equipment, such as the charging cable. If your sex toy functions abnormally, stop using it immediately.

DO NOT: Discard your sex toy in household waste

When the time comes for you to dispose of your sex toy, do so responsibly. Generally, consumers are legally obliged to turn in used batteries, including for sex toys. Batteries and electronic devices should never be disposed of in household waste, but rather, brought to the appropriate collection point for the recycling

DO NOT delay pleasure… DO go shopping!

Of course we weren’t going to stop at 10 do’s and don’ts. Talking about sex toys is what we do! So, have fun browsing SVAKOM collections for your next sex toy and explore your limits.
